In May 2023, Robert was invited as a guest on Rob Lee’s ‘The Truth in This Art’ podcast. Among the topics they discussed were Robert’s creative origins, how creativity can enhance our lives, and the importance of arts education.

Fitler Club x Mural arts

In February 2022, Robert was invited to participate in the first ever Mural Arts x Fitler Club Artist in Residence collaboration. Curated by Ginger Rudolph, this cohort featured 5 artists from the Black Arts Fellowship with distinct perspectives. The residency introduced new audiences to these artists and awarded each with a year-long membership at the Fitler Club along with a designated display area for their artworks.


Atemporal Artefacts

In October 2022, Robert’s solo exhibition Femme Noire opened at The Space Art Gallery in Philadelphia. The show used motifs found in global mythologies and cultural beliefs, and processed them through the lens of both an afrofuturist and a historical researcher to create new, “living'“ artifacts. Atemporal Artefacts ran from October to December.

Mural Arts philadelphia: black arts fellowship 2021

In May of 2021, Robert was selected as a recipient of the Mural Arts Philadelphia Black Arts Fellowship grant, joining 19 other Black creatives from a variety of backgrounds. The fellowship culminated in a group show hosted at Rush Arts Philadelphia from October-December of that year.

Philly solidarity: Solidarity Sunday

In May of 2021, Robert was invited to participate in the premiere Solidarity Sunday event hosted by Philly Solidarity. The event, an outdoor multi-disciplinary art showcase and forum, centered on showing support for and raising awareness of the issues facing the AAPI community in Philadelphia.

Crafted Vision Artist Showcase 2021

In October 2021, Robert was invited to participate in the second annual Crafted Vision Artist Showcase. The showcase was the premiere social event hosted at the brand new W Philadelphia Hotel. It took place as part of the DesignPhilly Festival and featured Black, indigenous, and POC creatives practicing in a variety of visual mediums from sculpture to interior design. A panel discussion on inclusive design preceded the showcase.

Black Creatives of Fitler Club

In February 2020, Robert was invited to speak at the Black Creatives of Fitler Club Panel Discussion. Featured panelists included Dr. Kimberly McGlonn of Grant BLVD, Dr. Harvey Floyd, and King Saladeen.

Femme Noire

In April 2020, Robert’s solo exhibition Femme Noire opened at The Space Art Gallery in Philadelphia. Femme Noire centered and celebrated Black women through art and design. The show ran through September 2021.

Black Boy Blue

In August 2019, Robert premiered Black Boy Blue: A Rhapsody of Many Selves. This was the first in a series of group art exhibitions centering and celebrating Black male-identifying artists. The show included live music, a panel discussion, and a fashion presentation.
